Who can use the Bureau?

We offer assistance to anyone who calls regardless of age, social class, race, religion, disability or sexuality. Our office is accessible to wheelchair users. Children are welcome so long as they are supervised.

What happens when I visit the Bureau?

We are open for clients to drop-in three times a week and everyone is seen on a first-come first-served basis. Sometimes there may be a queue of people, but you will always be seen as quickly as possible. Times and days for this service are available on the “contact us” page.

Everyone has a short initial interview, known as “gateway”, during which we help identify the best next step for you. This could be an appointment with one of our generalist or specialist advisers, directions to another more suitable organisation or access to relevant information resources.

Clients are only given an appointment following a gateway interview, if the problem cannot be resolved at that first meeting.

What if I can’t come to the Bureau?

We are also able to provide the initial contact or “gateway” interview over the phone. Times and days for this service are available on the “contact us” page.
